Eulalia Books publishes contemporary poetry from Latin America—specifically, by writers whose work has not yet appeared in a full-length English translation. We believe that poetry thrives outside the margins of privilege, and we love translators who work on the ground to find these books.
Our full-length books introduce Latin American poets (writing in a variety of languages) to an English readership, while foregrounding the role of translators as artists and collaborators. Our letterpress chapbook series, focused on experimental translations and translingual writing, is dedicated to a vital discourse on translation, language/s, and translation poetics.

Staff
Michelle Gil-Montero, Founding Editor, is a poet and translator of contemporary Latin American writing. Her work has been supported by the NEA, Howard Foundation, Pen/HEIM, and Fulbright. She has several book translations, including This Blue Novel by Valerie Mejer Caso. Most recently, her translation of María Negroni’s lyric novel, The Annunciation, was published on March 20, 2019 by Action Books. She is Professor of English and director of the Literary Translation Minor at Saint Vincent College.
Tyler Friend, Editor & Designer, was grown, and is still growing, in Tennessee. Tyler is the editor of the online poetry magazine Francis House and the author of Him or Her or Whatever (Alternating Current Press, 2022).
Mallory Truckenmiller Saylor, Editor, is a graduate of the MFA in literary translation program at the University of Iowa where she was an Iowa Arts Fellow. Specializing in gender, women, and sexuality studies, Mallory primarily translates Latin American and Iberian women writers with a focus on the role of gender in literature and translation. Her writing and translations have appeared in Latin American Literature Today, Asymptote and The Scores.
Román Antopolsky, Advisory Editor, is a poet, artist, and translator born in Buenos Aires currently living in Pittsburgh. He studied philosophy (UBA) and fine arts (IUNA) in his native city and is the author in Spanish of six books of poetry (ádelon, Cythna en red, Amor Islam, El ruido elegido, CaNCaN, and El trayecto hablado), three books of short fiction/essays (MI TO MA NO, Breve fábrica, and Defixiones), a novel (La orilla del día), a play (Texto), and a visual book (420 Abîmes). He translates poetry and philosophy from several languages (including Russian, English, Hungarian, French, and Portuguese) into Spanish.
Student Interns & Volunteers
Students attending Saint Vincent College have the opportunity to intern with Eulalia Books. Interns aid the press in all aspects of operations from social media to event planning to grant writing. The press would be deeply hindered without their support, charisma, and hard work.
Current Intern
Vayda Pascarella is a freshman English major and Chinese Language and Culture minor at Saint Vincent College, where she serves as the school’s Aquarium Club president and Fencing Club vice president. An avid reader, she enjoys reading different literary genres, but is particularly drawn to works in translation.
Volunteers
Oli Grogan recently graduated from the English program at Saint Vincent College, where she was involved with the school’s Writers’ Club. Her literary interests include children’s literature and newspaper comics, and she nurtures a passion for the off-beat and colourful. Her work has appeared in both .doc and .pdf file formats.
